Synod Assembly Offering

The offering received at the 2026 Synod Assembly has been designed for The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and The Holy Land.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land’s (ELCJHL) identity is shaped by their calling to a relationship with God and with others. The church is the local expression of the Lutheran communion worldwide. The ELCJHL ministers closely with the other twelve Christian churches in the Holy Land. Together, they promote unity, bear witness to God’s saving grace, and speak out against injustice. This communion of Christian Churches seeks to minister within a majority Muslim context to live into healthy Christian-Muslim relations. In the same way, the church strives to serve alongside those of the Jewish faith in a just and equitable coexistence. The ELCJHL has strong partnerships with other Lutheran churches and agencies around the world as well.

The ELCJHL operates four K-12 schools in Ramallah, Beit Jala, Bethlehem and Beit Sahour. Each year, the ELCJHL schools serve more than 3,000 students. The ELCJHL also has four additional ministries; the Gender Justice Ministry, the office of which is housed in the main offices of the Church of the Redeemer in Jerusalem, the Environmental Education Center located on the Talitha Kumi campus in Beit Jala, the Diaconal Ministry, which is housed in the offices of Beit Ibrahim, and our Youth Ministry.

Your gift will help support these ministries.

Ingathering

Lutheran World Relief Ingathering

Once again Women of the ELCA (WELCA) of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod are holding an Ingathering in conjunction with the Annual Synod Assembly.

Each year we have collected 100’s of quilts and kits during Synod Assembly for Lutheran World Relief. Congregations are once again invited and encouraged to bring quilts and kits (personal care, baby care, school and fabric kits). Please review the instructions for assembling and packaging LWR quilts and kits, which can be found at the links below. Kits are easy to assemble and even one can make a difference!

Items may be dropped off on Saturday, May 30 between 8 am and 10 am in Social Hall.  If you cannot make the drop off time, please reach out to Carrie Schwab, to make other arrangements.

Those dropping off items may pre-register what they are bringing at this link, otherwise bring this form
