Leadership Development

The Office of the Bishop provides continuing education and professional advancement opportunities for both rostered and lay leaders.

Rostered ministers are invited to participate in the annual Bishop’s Convocation, held each fall. Each event focuses on a key topic in church leadership.

Rostered Ministers in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod are expected to have training in boundaries, racial justice and LGBTQIA+ issues. Leaders may choose to do all three trainings in one year or they may do one training each year over three years and then repeat. Certificates of completion should be sent to Mrs. Yvonne Curtis

Our Synod, along with the Northeastern PA Synod (NEPA) sponsor an annual Generosity Event, usually held in January that brings together a variety of speakers to help support the stewardship ministry of congregations in our region.

"Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity."
— 1 Timothy 4:12
